The Talent of Women

Woman: Welcoming Home, Cradle of Life, and Source of Humanity

The Talent of Women

The wonder of women…  above all for being people. Unique, special, as is man, in his way of being. Each has his own qualities and talents, different, in which he is special and distinct from the other

This is because they are the  two ways of being a person, which are also reciprocal and complementary,  allowing us to fall in love, love each other, and form a family: the foundation and vital cell of humanity. We are all children… in need of affection.

No one is complete without love and family.  These three realities are intrinsically intertwined. We need to be loved, welcomed, and cared for in order to become authentic human beings. This is how we become capable of loving and considering others.

Let’s focus on  the woman  and her qualities. She is special, in a unique way.

Her personality  fosters strong relationships  within her community and family,  creating a  warm and joyful atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable. She also  encourages everyone’s participation .  Therefore, what a dream and a journey we have ahead of us, and what a responsibility! The happiness of each and every one of our loved ones is at stake. And that makes us happy.

But sometimes women find themselves in a  cycle of demands and hyperactivity : work, experiences, travel, outings, shopping… which overwhelm them and rob them of peace and purpose. This prevents them from having  serenity : something so valuable for living and developing their talents.

“Woman teaches the art of loving, the art of living”

We live in the age of  “digital noise ,” of posing, of  smiling for the camera,  but sometimes inside she’s sad, restless, unable to develop her talents, and anxious about not being able to do everything. Which is impossible.

Even with  a fear of silence, of introspection,  of being alone with herself, of asking herself the ultimate questions about the  meaning  of life. And so, alone, sorrowful, and pretending. Trying to run faster and faster, at the pace set by society… or technology. Like a hamster in a cage, without looking far ahead, without any real perspective. Just  running,  not knowing where.

However, the person, especially the woman, is designed for personal relationships,  for communication, for sharing and giving, especially in couples and in families, with loved ones.

Sometimes it’s believed that commitment to a partner and family ties restrict freedom, and women want to “break free” from all of that by focusing solely on themselves, me, and their appearance. They become preoccupied with feeling good, with external factors like clothing and looks, with external “success,” with appearances.

In this sense, Audrey Hepburn points out: “A woman’s beauty is not in the clothes she wears, in the figure she has, or in how she styles her hair… And she continues: …but in  her eyes , the gateway to  her heart,  the place where Love resides.”

We must delve into the person’s inner self: into their heart. External things don’t fulfill her.  She finds happiness in a relationship-oriented environment,  welcoming and loving. She doesn’t seek functionality, or even productivity—something so cold to her—but rather  peace and beauty, and emotional warmth . She brings harmony to everything she touches, especially personal relationships.

She possesses  unique qualities,  as the great philosopher and educator Jutta Burggraf points out, because she has an intense connection with life. For example, she is  welcoming, creates an atmosphere  full of affection, is  kind and elegant, and  is sensitive to the needs of others. She knows how to understand and alleviate potential conflicts, listen attentively, and look people in the eye. And she discovers what is unique in each person. She sees people, knowing that  they are far more important than things:  on an infinitely higher level.

“The art of living consists of discovering our authentic face, the one God envisioned before creating us.” -Jutta Burggraf

She feels comfortable  welcoming others ,  especially  as a couple,  with her husband. He, on the other hand, prefers to go out and meet them. She is “home,” he seeks a home. We are reciprocal: that’s how we were created, wonderfully. And that’s how we achieve the best in each other, by thinking of one another. That’s the key:  the reciprocity  of love.

Interpersonal relationships  are important and bring fulfillment to each individual,  because a person is a “relational being” and “a being of contributions”… They are designed for others. Women enjoy chatting, looking with empathy, connecting, understanding, and helping. Being there for others.

It’s  a welcoming home . It has a desire to give, and to give of itself, specifically and especially within that environment of maximum freedom, which is its family.

She enjoys giving herself fully to her partner, making life more pleasant for everyone, despite life’s difficulties and problems. And it is in motherhood that these qualities manifest themselves in an exceptional way.  She welcomes a new being, the fruit of a sublime act of love from the parents, giving it life. Not only physically, but also spiritually and emotionally, through the ineffable affection and tenderness with which she envelops and protects it.

Woman is  the unique place where a new life can be conceived , in accordance with her dignity, because she is  naturally prepared  for it: she is “home” and she is “cradle”.

And she finds  personal fulfillment  in these close relationships: welcoming, valuing, understanding, comforting, and showing affection to those around her. And as a result of this fulfillment,  she is and feels happy.  This allows her horizon to brighten and fill, and a  smile to blossom  on her face and in her eyes. It makes her blissful.

This allows her  to be with herself, calm, in her inner sanctuary,  where there is silence, freedom, and the ability to think, feel, be in control of herself, dream, plan… To be at peace with herself. To know she is loved, and to lavish that transformative love on her loved ones.

She puts love into every task, every detail, every encounter … She gives her time and her talents. Looking into your eyes,  she reaches your heart This woman teaches  the art of loving , the art of living. In her resides tenderness, an appreciation for what is valuable, and a deep respect for people.

I greatly value her role in the family and in the history of humanity.  She possesses special gifts that the world needs,  such as her kindness and her smile. And she is kind because she loves. That is her secret.

Women are called  to “create family”  wherever they are, to engage with their unique and characteristic qualities: their tender affection, their tireless generosity, their love for the small things, their intuition, their simple piety, their tenacity and strength… And they know how to transmit these qualities to others,  humanizing  the environments they inhabit. They are  a source of humanity,  deploying their talents to build a more welcoming and humane world. A more personal one. And they transform the world from within because they love, because they nurture their relationships.

Therefore, her  fulfillment  lies not so much in an all-consuming professional job, or in success at all costs, nor even in housework with a narrow focus, but in the development of her own characteristics and qualities, by virtue of being a person, of being a woman, and of being a unique being: special, singular, inimitable. With her own  mission  that gives her life meaning.

Each woman must decide what to do with her life, according to her own characteristics, tastes, and desires, and  put her heart and soul into her choice.  And she will do it very well. Whether it’s the work of leading a family, often more important, delicate, and necessary than running a multinational corporation, or whether it’s balancing it with another job outside the home… But always with the well-being of her own family, of each and every one of them. Of her husband, of her children.

And that  housework,  always there, sometimes so hidden, will bear fruit, because  it has an eternal purpose and overflows with transcendence.  It possesses extraordinary brilliance that transcends the here and now. And  it shapes free people  , capable of thinking for themselves, and of  loving.  What more could one ask for? Work for eternity.

That is why GK Chesterton wittily points out: “If education is the greatest thing in the world, what sense can there be in talking about a woman being freed from the greatest thing in the world?”

I’ll leave for another article some of her  qualities as a woman and mother,  which she displays in family relationships and in raising her children, alongside the father, working as a team and creating synergy. They are both different, yet essential!

Finally, a thought-provoking quote from the recently awarded  Byung-Chul Han:  “Now people exploit themselves at work, thinking that they are fulfilling themselves in life, and man is only fully human when he plays.”
