November 30, Advent Preparation
Daily Reflections
Gospel Reflection
Today we celebrate the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle. In the Gospel of Matthew 4:18-22, Jesus calls Andrew and his brother Peter to follow him and become “fishers of men.” Without hesitation, they leave everything and follow him, showing absolute faith and trust in Jesus.
The purpose for the day
Today, reflect on your call to follow Jesus. What does he ask you to leave behind to follow him more closely? Take time to pray and ask for the grace to follow Jesus with all your heart.
How to Live Christmas as a Family
As a family, talk about the example of St. Andrew and how you can respond to Jesus’ call in your lives. You can make a list of concrete commitments to live out your faith more fully this Advent.
Prayer for the day
“Lord Jesus, give me the grace to follow you with all my heart, as did St. Andrew and the first apostles. Help me to leave behind everything that prevents me from being your faithful disciple. Bless my family and guide us in this time of Advent, to respond to your call with joy and generosity. Amen.”
