Fr. Jorge Miró shares with Exaudi readers his commentary on the Gospel for Sunday, November 1, 2026, entitled, “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”

Today we celebrate the solemnity of All Saints.
Today we celebrate that immense multitude that no one could count, of which the Apocalypse speaks; the multitude of Christ’s disciples who have already reached the goal of eternal life.
The Church wants us to remember that, until Jesus Christ returns at the end of time, some of his disciples are pilgrims on earth; others, already deceased, are being purified; while others are already in heaven, glorified, contemplating God as he is.
There is a communion between the Church in heaven and the Church on earth. The Church is:
– A militant church that fights and walks on earth to reach the goal, which is eternal life;
– The Church in purgatory, which is being purified in order to participate in the glory of God;
– A triumphant Church that has already reached the goal and lives with God forever.
Therefore, mindful of this communion of the entire Mystical Body of Christ, it makes sense to remember and pray to the saints. They are now like God and see Him as He truly is. They now intercede for us.
They are saints not because they earned a lot of money or were powerful and held top positions, but because they allowed the Holy Spirit to reproduce in them the image of Christ: to make them poor, meek, pure of heart, peaceful, merciful; because they wept for their sins and hungered and thirsted for salvation.
They are saints because in their lives they were faithful to Jesus Christ and lived each day by his Word, living each day doing his will, docile to the inspiration of the Spirit.
You too can walk this path. You are called to be holy. You are called to live each day faithful to the Lord, allowing the Holy Spirit to renew your heart according to the Beatitudes. You are called to be holy in the midst of your weakness. The Lord already takes it into account.
The Lord is calling you! Trust in Him! Put yourself in His hands! He who began the good work in you will bring it to completion (cf. Phil 1:6).
Come Holy Spirit! (cf. Lk 11:13).
