Incarnatus Est: A New Horizon for the Holistic Formation of Young People
Celebrating the Launch of an Institute that Unites Faith, Community, and Knowledge
An inspiring initiative has emerged, seeking to reconnect young people with the essence of life: their faith, their vocation, and their role in society. Last Tuesday, February 17th, the Roncalli Residence Hall in Madrid was the perfect setting for the inauguration of Incarnatus Est, an international institute for humanistic formation inspired by Catholicism. This event not only marked the beginning of an ambitious project but also brought together brilliant minds and passionate hearts for an evening filled with reflection, music, and hope.
The presentation began at 7:00 p.m. and drew an enthusiastic audience, eager to discover this unique educational offering. Fabrice Hadjadj , the charismatic director of Incarnatus Est and renowned French philosopher, captivated everyone with his lecture entitled “Why Incarnatus Est, Today and in Spain?” With a touch of humor and profound sincerity, Hadjadj shared how this project surprised even him: “Just a year ago, I wouldn’t have imagined being here, speaking Spanish, a language I only knew from the lyrics of ‘La Bamba.'” His presentation led the attendees to the heart of the institute, emphasizing its mission to provide a holistic education for young adults in an environment that integrates study, community life, and spirituality.
No less impactful were the contributions of Miguel Gabián and Salvador Antuñano , key members of the founding team. Gabián detailed the practical aspects of the school, highlighting its educational and life-oriented approach that extends beyond traditional classrooms. Antuñano, for his part, outlined the project’s genesis: its origins, motivations, and the reasons for its relevance in the current context. The event also had the virtual support of Bishop Ginés García Beltrán of Getafe , who expressed his institutional backing and emphasized the value of this initiative in service to the Church in Spain and Latin America. To close the event in grand style, a concert by Carlos Danés Valenzuela, a Philanthropos alumnus, and Berta Caro filled the hall with harmonious notes, symbolizing the harmony that Incarnatus Est seeks to foster in the lives of its students.
But what makes Incarnatus Est so special, and why is it such a transformative and educational opportunity? This institute, aimed at young people between 18 and 28 years old, offers a nine-month formative experience that intertwines intellectual, communal, and spiritual dimensions. It’s not about separate compartments, but rather a unified life where knowledge is lived in community and nourished by spirituality. As a non-profit organization, it has the strong support of the Diocese of Getafe and an academic partnership with the Francisco de Vitoria University, allowing participants to earn 60 ECTS credits upon completion of the course. This not only validates the training academically but also makes it accessible and recognized within the university setting.
Incarnatus Est will open its doors in September 2026 at its Boadilla del Monte campus (Madrid), welcoming its first cohort of 40 students. Imagine living in community for an academic year, exploring contemporary challenges with clarity and depth, while strengthening your understanding of faith and discovering your place in the world. It is an invitation to grow holistically in a positive and enriching environment that prepares young people to face the future with confidence and purpose.
For those who wish to relive the moment, the full event is available on YouTube ( https://youtu.be/MSXYLuCQmlU?t=2411 ), with key interventions such as Gabián ‘s from minute 40:14, Antuñano’s from 57:32, Hadjadj’s from 1:11:55, and Bishop Beltrán’s at 1:07:45. In addition, photos of the event can be downloaded directly, and more information can be found at www.incarnatus.com .
In short, Incarnatus Est is not just a school; it’s a beacon of hope for a generation searching for meaning and connection. It promises not only to educate minds but to transform lives. An initiative that will undoubtedly leave its mark on the Spanish educational landscape!
