“Grace for the World”: A show that illuminated St. Peter’s Square

The closing ceremony of the World Meeting on Human Fraternity shone with music, lights, and internationally renowned artists

“Grace for the World”: A show that illuminated St. Peter’s Square

On the evening of September 13, St. Peter’s Square became the stage for Grace for the World, an international event combining art, music, and messages of fraternity, marking the closing of the World Meeting on Human Fraternity. What began as days of debate, roundtable discussions, and workshops with the participation of international figures reached its most spectacular and moving moment in this spectacle.

An evening of art and fraternity

At 6:00 PM, the doors of St. Peter’s Colonnade opened to welcome the public for an evening of voices and testimonies interspersed with top-notch artistic performances. Among the performers were Andrea Bocelli, Pharrell Williams accompanied by the Voices of Fire gospel choir, John Legend, Il Volo, and the Diocese of Rome Choir under the direction of Maestro Marco Frisina, as well as Colombian singer-songwriter Karol G and other prominent artists.

The show wasn’t limited to just music: more than 3,000 drones and a set of aerial lights recreated images inspired by the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel, creating a magical atmosphere that illuminated the dome of St. Peter’s and left an indelible impression on those in attendance.

A “symbolic embrace” to the world

Grace for the World wasn’t just a concert; it was a cultural project that sought to unite debate, art, and testimony. According to the official statement, the event celebrates “the power of brotherhood” and sends the world “a symbolic embrace and a renewed collective commitment to the protection of Creation.” It is an invitation to reflect and share a message of global unity through art and culture.
