The Rebellion of Living the Gospel Today
Rebels Podcast is Born
In a cultural context marked by superficiality, noise, and confusion, REBELDES PODCAST is born, an audiovisual evangelization project that proposes to rediscover authentic Christian rebellion: living against the current following Jesus Christ, the only Way, Truth, and Life.
The podcast is hosted by Father Ignacio Amorós (promoter of the Rebels Wanted project) and Father Pablo López (of the Young Catholics project), priests and digital evangelizers with extensive experience in communicating the faith and spiritual accompaniment.
Through personal testimonials, Rebeldes Podcast gives voice to people whose lives have been transformed by their encounter with God: converts, married couples, large families, religious Catholic influencers, priests, and laypeople. The podcast aims to present faith not as a distant concept, but as an experience that can be taken to the gym, while walking down the street, or listened to in the car or on the bus—entertaining and educational at the same time.
The official premiere will be on Thursday, January 15th, with a first episode featuring Fray Marcos, a Dominican friar and MasterChef contestant, who is very active on social media and a role model for young believers. The podcast will be available on YouTube, Spotify, Ivoox, and other audio platforms.
Real testimonies, faith incarnate
Guests who have already participated in the Rebeldes Podcast include:
- Friar Marcos, Dominican religious and participant in MasterChef.
- Casilda Finat, businesswoman, wife and mother, influencer, and convert to Catholicism.
- Casto Domínguez, musician and businessman, a testament of faith after overcoming cancer.
- Carlota Valenzuela and Santiago, pilgrims from Finisterre to Jerusalem.
- Irene and Israel, a married couple with 12 children, are missionaries in China.
- Mother Olga, founder of the Carmelite Samaritans of the Heart of Jesus.
- Mons. Raimo Goyarrola, bishop of Helsinki.
Each episode reveals the same truth: the Christian faith does not take away life; it multiplies it.
“True rebellion today is taking the Gospel seriously.”
Fr. Ignacio Amorós, priest and digital evangelist, reflects on faith lived against the current and the role of testimonies in current evangelization.
Father Ignacio, what does it mean to be a Christian rebel today?
“When we decide on this revolution, we may find it difficult to carry it out. A friend once told me that he loved Jesus Christ and shared his message of love but that he was ‘too rebellious.’ Then I reminded him of some words of Saint Josemaría: ‘Look, in today’s world, a rebel is someone who refuses to go with the flow, who doesn’t want to live selfishly, who can’t stand stepping on others, who decides not to live like an animal… A rebel is someone who wants to do good, to give their life for God and for others. Yes, those are the rebels who follow the greatest rebel in history, Jesus of Nazareth’”
What does Rebeldes Podcast contribute to current evangelization?
“We want a Catholic podcast where people can share their faith in everyday life. Something you can listen to while exercising, walking, driving, or simply relaxing at home. We want it to be enjoyable, entertaining, and provide you with Catholic formation. We also invite very interesting and insightful people to share their ideas and testimonies.”
The guests break stereotypes of the “typical Catholic.” Is this intentional?
“Yes, we want to show that holiness and rebellion don’t have a single mold. There are tattooed Catholics, exhausted mothers, businesspeople, young pilgrims, religious people, bishops… The Church is much more human and fascinating than people usually think.”
Who is this podcast for?
“To anyone with deep concerns: believers, those who have drifted away, people searching. Especially to those who feel that the world promises much but fulfills little. We want to be an honest companion on that journey.”
If you had to summarize the podcast’s message in one sentence, what would it be?
“It is worth risking your life for Christ, because only He truly sets you free.”
