The Pope slept well all night
New statement on the health of the Pontiff
“The Pope has rested well all night.” This is what is read in a statement to journalists released this morning, March 3, by the Press Office of the Holy See on the state of health of the Pontiff, hospitalized in the Gemelli hospital in Rome since February 14.
Late yesterday afternoon, the Vatican Press Office had announced that Francis is in a “stable” clinical state and that the clinical picture is complex, so that “the prognosis remains reserved.” At the meeting with the media, it was explained that the Pontiff is apyretic and “did not require non-invasive mechanical ventilation, but only high-flow oxygen therapy.” In addition, it was learned that “there were no direct consequences from the isolated episode of bronchospasm last Friday” and that “however, the risk of criticality remains.”
After waking up, Pope Francis had breakfast and began his daily therapies. A new medical update on his clinical condition will be given in the afternoon.
