Today, the Holy Father Francis received in audience Her Excellency Ms. Zuzana Čaputová, President of the Slovak Republic, who subsequently met with His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the cordial discussions which took place in the Secretariat of State, the good existing bilateral relations between the Holy See and the Slovak Republic and the role of the Church in society were emphasized.

As the talks continued, the war in Ukraine and its regional and international impact were discussed in depth, with a focus on the humanitarian situation, the reception of refugees and the socio-economic crisis.
