The Rebirth of the Family: A Practical Guide to Harmonizing Family and Work Life with Authentic Values

The Family, the Heart of Society

An exciting project:  the family, “heart of humanity”, with family-valued.

I want to share a surprise with you: an amazing book, which I have the pleasure and honor of contributing to, that can help families in many specific ways, as well as offer a deeper understanding of their essence, guided by experts in different fields. This is hopeful and very encouraging in our world. Rediscovering the life-giving and healing power that the family itself possesses.

The book is titled:  The Renaissance of the Family.  A practical guide for families with active working lives.

This publication features contributions from 48 authors from 11 countries. It was edited by Dr. Karl-Maria de Molina and comprises 300 pages. The German and English editions —published in early 2025— were also edited by him. The Spanish edition, which also includes new authors, is scheduled for release in the first half of November this year.

A comprehensive view of the family

The book addresses the importance of family in a modern society marked by work responsibilities and personal challenges. It offers practical advice and perspectives on how to harmonize family life with professional tasks.

Individualism, which has such a strong influence on today’s society, fosters people who are only concerned with their own interests, ignoring the situation of others. In this way, they become highly narcissistic individuals who lack the attitude and skills necessary to consider others, and ultimately, to love and possess the generosity and courage to form a family, with all the challenges and responsibilities that it entails—which are, nevertheless, so often very rewarding.

In developing this publishing project, the family is considered the heart of society.  Because within the family, each person is given priority, and it has values and principles upon which its stability is based, allowing it to build life “upward”: toward the best in each individual and in all. It is a center of intimacy and openness. Thus, it aims at the integral development of each person, centered on love, which will benefit those close to them and society as a whole.

The chapters are varied, covering all dimensions of the person that make harmonious coexistence, family unity, and family life possible.  For example, they range from preparing for marriage to raising children and balancing work and family life. The book particularly emphasizes the family’s role as the foundation of society and as the space where these relationships, mutual support, and respect are nurtured and fostered, and where each person grows through love: “the essential gift.”

The content is divided into several topics, among which the following stand out:

Preparing for the “do” : how to build a solid foundation for a stable, loving relationship.

Raising and educating children : the relevant role of parents, who guide their children with the beauty of values made life, and give them orientation in the modern world, conversing, being present, “making family”.

Family roles : the importance of the mother, the father, and other family members in achieving truly human relationships that facilitate unity, stability, and family harmony, where each person feels loved and can, in turn, love others.

Daily life and society : how families face daily challenges with enthusiasm and strength, which has a positive influence on society. All development and growth comes from within, not the other way around. If the family is filled with values and genuine affection, it will have a positive influence on society, and nothing from the outside will interfere.

A timely and necessary book

This is a refreshing and profound reflection on the essence of family and its importance today. What is most impressive is the diversity of perspectives offered by authors from different countries, cultures, and fields of knowledge.

The clarity of its structure and content, and its practical orientation, make this publication valuable both for young couples preparing for marriage and for experienced parents and educators.

Traditional values are combined and synergized with the new challenges of a modern society, demonstrating that, despite life’s difficulties, the family is a place of hope, strength, and trusting affection, where each member’s qualities unfold and flourish in that cherished atmosphere of freedom. And it becomes the solution to so many problems in today’s society.

Another key point is the emphasis placed on the responsibility of each and every individual to strengthen the family as the basic unit of society, enabling the holistic development of each person. This means that each individual can achieve fulfillment and lead a meaningful and fulfilling life, and therefore, be happy.

There is no complete person without family : the place where each of them feels welcomed and loved, and can conquer their best personality, precisely in the relationship with the other members of the family.

Who is it intended for ?

Especially for young couples, parents seeking practical advice and inspiration for raising their children, educators, counselors, and those who support couples or families. Also for anyone who wants to rediscover the value of family in an increasingly individualistic, and therefore sadder and lonelier, world.

Therefore, it’s time for family! Time for love that transforms from within and gives life to everything, makes it flourish, and heals it…
