Reliving the Jubilee of the Digital Missionaries in 60 Minutes

The Jubilee of Catholic Digital Missionaries and Influencers took place in Rome on July 28 and 29, 2025. This event expresses the Church’s recognition of the evangelizing mission in the digital space. It involved in-person and virtual participants from various countries who used social platforms to bring the message of Christ to the world.

The Church has seen that social media, blogs, podcasts, and other digital spaces are no longer simply auxiliary tools, but real environments where faith is lived, communities are built, and new challenges are raised.

This reality emerged from the Synod process, where digital missionaries were already present, listening, sharing with their communities, generating questions, and reaching out, especially among young people.

One of the great treasures of this mission lies in discovering how the digital mission crosses cultural, linguistic, and geographic distances, reaching those who are alone, distant from the Church, or on the existential periphery.

More than a thousand digital missionaries from over 50 countries participated in person in the Digital Missionaries Jubilee, with many others connecting virtually.

Virtual meeting to relive the experience

Next Saturday, September 27, an open virtual gathering will be held, with the aim of reliving the Jubilee for those who participated in July and allowing others to experience it for the first time.

The meeting will feature Monsignor Lucio Ruiz, secretary of the Dicastery for Communication, who will present the mission of the digital evangelizer and offer an overview of key moments of the Jubilee.

In addition, several event participants—including co-organizer Verónica Brunkow—will share their impressions and testimonies about the impact of the Jubilee on their lives and digital mission.
