The Holy See Press Office announced this Friday, September 13, through the Telegram channel, that Pope Francis “on his return from the apostolic trip to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Singapore,” went to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where he stopped in prayer before the icon of the Virgin Mary, the Salus Populi Romani, to give thanks for his trip to Asia and Oceania
At the end of the visit, the note reads, the Pontiff returned to the Vatican.
