The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishops of the metropolitan archdiocese of São Paulo, Brazil, the Reverend Cícero Alves de França, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, until now rector of the Bom Pastor Seminary of Theology of the same archdiocese, assigning him the titular see of Missua; the Reverend Rogério Augusto das Neves, of the clergy of the diocese of São José dos Campos, until now parish priest of Nossa Senhora da Soledade, assigning him the titular see of Lares.

Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Cícero Alves de França

Msgr. Cícero Alves de França was born on 13 March 1975 in Cajazeiras, in the diocese of the same name, Paraíba. He studied philosophy at the Centro Universitário Assunção in São Paulo, and theology at the Nossa Senhora da Assunção in São Paulo. He was then awarded a diploma for formators to the priesthood and consecrated life (2008) and a licentiate in spirituality (2009) at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome.

On 7 March 2004, he received priestly ordination and was incardinated in the archdiocese of São Paulo, where he served as vice-rector of the Santo Cura D’Ars Seminary of Philosophy (2005-2009) and parish vicar of São Judas Tadeu (2004-2005), of São João Batista (2005-2006), São Mateus (2006-2009) and Nossa Senhora dos Remédios (2009).

He currently holds the following offices: professor in the Pontifical Nossa Senhora da Assunção Faculty of Theology, and member of the Presbyteral Council, the College of Consultors, and the Archdiocesan Commission for the Protection of Minors. From 2010 to date he has served as rector of the Bom Pastor Seminary of Theology.

Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Rogério Augusto das Neves

Msgr. Rogério Augusto das Neves was born on 30 December 1966 in São José dos Campos, in the diocese of the same name, São Paulo. He studied civil law at the Faculdades Integradas de São José dos Campos (1990) and, after entering the seminary, philosophy at the Instituto de Teologia e Filosofia Santa Teresinha in São José dos Campos (1994) and theology at the Faculdade Dehoniana in Taubaté (1998). He then specialized in canon law, first obtaining a licentiate from the Instituto de Direito Canônico Dr. Giuseppe Benito Pegoraro in São Paulo (2000) and then a doctorate from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome (2003).

He was ordained to the priesthood on 3 July 1999 and incardinated in the diocese of São José dos Campos, where he held the following positions: parish vicar of Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro (1999-2002), of São José (2003), and of Sagrado Coração de Jesus (2005-2010); rector of the Seminary of Philosophy (2005-2009); parish priest of São Benedito (2003-2004) and of São João Bosco (2010-2015); judge and deputy judicial vicar of the Inter-Diocesan Tribunal of Aparecida; member of the College of Consultors and of the Presbyteral Council.

As professor of canon law, he teaches at the Catholic Faculty of São José dos Campos, in São Paulo at the Centro Universitário Salesiano and at the Faculty of São Bento. Since 2015 he has been parish priest of Nossa Senhora da Soledade in São José dos Campos.
