“Pope Leo XIV through the eyes of children”
The international competition
The “Pro Arte Christiana” Foundation, based in the Polish city of Kalisz, is organizing a competition aimed at children from preschools and primary schools with the goal of introducing the figure of the Pope and encouraging children to engage in creative work, developing their artistic imagination. In previous years, the Foundation invited children to paint Pope Francis. This time, children aged 3 to 10 have been invited to paint Leo XIV. The objective of the competition is to promote the figure of the new Pope and, at the same time, to inspire children to express themselves through the visual arts. In particular, the organizers encourage participation from children attending therapeutic centers, special education schools, and orphanages. The competition will conclude on January 30, 2026; the final event with the awards ceremony will take place on May 9, 2026, in Kalisz.
Children’s works must be sent by January 30, 2026, to the following address: Fundacja “Pro Arte Christiana” ul. Stawiszyńska 163 Dom, 62-800 Kalisz (Poland).
Participants in the competition may submit unpublished works in A4 format, created using any technique. Their works will be evaluated by professors and lecturers from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Art in Kalisz, which is part of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
Interesting prizes will be awarded to the winners.
The competition is held under the honorary patronage of His Excellency Mons. Antonio Guido Filipazzi, Apostolic Nuncio in Poland, and His Excellency Mons. Damian Bryl, Bishop of Kalisz.
