Pope Francis shows stable improvement
Update, March 10: Pope Francis has responded favorably to treatment, and will continue to receive it in a hospital setting for several more days. Today, the Holy Father followed the meditations of the Spiritual Exercises on video
The Pope’s health remains stable. The improvements observed in the previous days have been consolidated, as confirmed by blood tests, clinical evaluation and the good response to drug treatment. For this reason, the doctors have decided to modify the prognosis.
However, due to the complexity of his clinical picture and the serious infection he had at the time of his admission, it will be necessary to continue medical therapy in the hospital for a few more days.
This morning, the Pope was able to follow the Spiritual Exercises by connecting to the Paul VI Hall, then received the Eucharist and went to the chapel of his apartment for a moment of prayer. In the afternoon, he again joined the Curia’s Spiritual Exercises, following them by videoconference. During the day, he alternated moments of prayer with rest.
This is reported in the bulletin of the Holy See Press Office, released this afternoon, Monday, March 10, on the state of health of Pope Francis, hospitalized since February 14 at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome.
