Pope Francis shows slight improvement
Doctors are maintaining a reserved prognosis as a precaution
Pope Francis remains in Rome’s Gemelli Hospital after being admitted on February 14 due to bilateral pneumonia. According to the latest medical report, his health is showing signs of improvement. In the last few hours, he has not experienced any new asthmatic respiratory crises, which represents a positive step in his evolution.
Laboratory tests also show some improvement, and the mild kidney failure detected previously is not an immediate concern for specialists. Although the Pontiff is still under treatment with oxygen therapy, doctors have been able to reduce the amount and concentration of oxygen administered.
Despite this progress, doctors have chosen to maintain a reserved prognosis, given the complexity of the Holy Father’s clinical condition. During the day, Francis received the Eucharist and resumed part of his work activities. In addition, he contacted the parish priest of the Parish of Gaza to express his closeness and support.
The Pope expressed his deep gratitude for the many expressions of affection and prayers he has received during these days of convalescence. The Holy See is closely following his progress and will provide updates on his health in the coming days.
