Pope Francis remains stable at Gemelli Hospital
Pope Francis, 88, remains hospitalized at Rome’s Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic due to bilateral pneumonia. According to the latest medical report, his clinical condition is stable, and blood tests indicate a slight improvement in inflammatory indices.
The Holy Father has maintained his daily routine as much as possible during his stay. After breakfast, he read some newspapers and worked with his closest collaborators. Before lunch, he received the Eucharist.
On the afternoon of February 19, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visited the Pope in hospital. After the meeting, Meloni declared: “I am pleased to have found him alert and receptive. We joked as always. He has not lost his proverbial sense of humor.”
The Pope’s hospitalization has sparked a wave of affection and prayers from authorities, institutions, and faithful around the world, who express their closeness and concern for his speedy recovery.
