The Vatican reports that the Pontiff has rested well and continues with his medical treatment

Hospitalized since February 14 at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome due to bilateral pneumonia, Pope Francis has had a peaceful night, the Holy See Press Office reported on the morning of February 25. The statement notes that the Holy Father “rested well all night.”

In the medical update of the previous day, a “slight improvement” in his state of health was noted. No new respiratory crises were recorded, and the flow of oxygen administered was slightly reduced. In addition, the tests showed favorable results, and the “mild renal insufficiency is not a cause for concern.” Despite the complexity of his clinical picture, the doctors are cautiously optimistic.
