Pope Francis dies of stroke and irreversible cardiovascular collapse

Stroke, coma, irreversible cardiovascular collapse. These are the causes of Pope Francis’ death, which occurred at 7:35 a.m. yesterday in his apartment at Casa Santa Marta.
This was certified by Professor Andrea Arcangeli, director of the Directorate of Health and Hygiene of Vatican City State, in the death certificate published this afternoon by the Holy See Press Office.
The medical document indicates that the Pope had a history of acute respiratory failure with bilateral multimicrobial pneumonia, multiple bronchiectasis, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes.
Death was confirmed by an electrocardiogram. “I declare,” writes Arcangeli, “that the causes of death, to the best of my knowledge and conscience, are those indicated above.”
