Pope Francis continues his recovery at Santa Marta with signs of improvement
The Pontiff shows progress in his motor skills, breathing, and voice, although he maintains a convalescent and rest regimen recommended by doctors
Pope Francis continues his recovery process at his Santa Marta residence, showing positive progress in his health after being discharged from Gemelli Hospital on March 23. According to recent reports from the Holy See Press Office, the Pontiff has shown improvements in his motor skills and breathing capacity, managing to dispense with continuous oxygen use for prolonged periods. In addition, a progressive recovery has been observed in his voice, which was affected during his illness.
Despite these progresses, the Pope maintains a convalescent regimen that includes drug therapies and respiratory and motor physiotherapy. On medical advice, he has limited visitors and continues his recovery in a controlled environment. Regarding his liturgical duties, the Palm Sunday celebration was presided over by Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, acting on behalf of the Holy Father.
The Catholic community remains attentive to the progress of Pope Francis’s health, hoping for his speedy recovery and return to his usual activities.
