Pope at Gemelli: Therapy continues, new tests are being carried out
Pope Francis slept well last night
“The Pope slept well last night and is now resting.” This is the update provided by the Holy See Press Office today, February 27, on the state of health of Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized at the “Agostino Gemelli” Polyclinic since February 14.
This morning, after waking up, he had breakfast, continued the prescribed treatment, and carried out further tests. He continues with oxygenation. He is in the armchair. Likewise, he is informed of the numerous prayer initiatives that are being organized for him. The Pope’s mood is good. The jubilee audience next Saturday, March 1, has been canceled.
Last night’s medical bulletin highlighted a “slight improvement.” The chest CT scan revealed “a normal evolution of the pulmonary inflammatory picture.” High-flow oxygen therapy continues, according to the medical team’s evening press release, as does respiratory physiotherapy. The diagnosis remains confidential.
