On the Trail of Hope: Series Launched Investigating the Faith of Future Saints in Latin America and the Caribbean
During the Jubilee Year of Hope, a sound production by Juan Diego Network seeks to inspire Catholics and promote devotions related to them
Driven by a mission to evangelize, educate, and entertain, and after being honored with a Gabriel Award in 2024, considered the “Catholic Oscar,” Juan Diego Network announces today the launch of its major new production: Investigation: Future Saints of Latin America.
In narrative format, the first “case” investigated will be that of Blessed Anacleto González Flores, patron saint of Mexican lay people and martyr of the Cristero War. For this reason, the podcast premieres on September 16, Mexican Independence Day. Starting on this date, a new episode will be published every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The Juan Diego Network has consolidated its reputation for creating high-quality productions that touch minds and hearts for Christ. This new podcast continues that mission, using a dynamic format to present the lives of blessed and venerable people from our continent, not as distant tales, but as fascinating and relevant accounts for today.
José Manuel de Urquidi, founder of the Juan Diego Network, explains the project’s vision: “We believe the lives of the saints are the most fascinating stories to explore. We want to reveal the ‘evidence’ of holiness in figures from our own land so that whoever listens may say, ‘I too am called to be a saint,’ and at the same time become active participants in canonization causes, asking for their intercession so that, God willing, there may be the miracle(s) our future saints need to reach the altars.”
The podcast’s style and format are designed to captivate. Each episode is a high-quality audio production, with music and effects that immerse the listener. Through fantastic storytelling, the life of each future saint becomes a thrilling “case” to be solved.
This narrative approach seeks to connect with the humanity and heroism of these figures, generating in the audience a genuine desire to learn more, to be inspired by their example, and, above all, to seek their intercession before the Lord in their moments of prayer.
Following a rigorous structure, each episode engages the listener with a dramatic scene, opens the “case file” of the protagonist, and carries out a “reconstruction of the facts” based on testimony and historical evidence. The investigation culminates with the “verdict of history” and a call to prayer with the official prayer of the case.
In a polarized world, the launch takes on a special resonance in this Jubilee Year of 2025. As a Church, we are called to be pilgrims of hope. The stories of these blessed and venerable ones are beacons of light that offer the supernatural hope the world needs.
The podcast has a twofold objective. First, to inspire action, demonstrating that living the virtues to a heroic degree is possible in everyday life. Second, to actively promote the causes for canonization, inviting the audience to be a force of prayer so that, God willing, our continent will have more saints elevated to the altars.
Following the Anacleto González Flores case, upcoming investigations will include Laura Vicuña, Father Rutilio Grande, Sister María Romero Meneses, Father Rafael García Herreros, and Ceferino Namuncurá, among many others.
