Accredited journalists are advised that, on Thursday 25 May 2023, at 11.30 a.m., at the Press Office of the Holy See, St. Pius X Hall, Via dell’Ospedale 1, a Press Conference will be held to present the Message of the Holy Father Francis on the occasion of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to be celebrated on 1 September next.

Speakers will include:

– His Eminence Card. Michael Czerny, S.I., Prefect of the Dicastery for the Service of Integral Human Development;

– Rev. Canon Rachel Mash, Environmental Coordinator for the Anglican Church of Southern Africa and member of the Anglican Communion Environmental Network (remotely connected);

– Mr. Tomás Insua, Executive Director of the Laudato si’ Movement;

– Dr. Cecilia Turbitosi, Animator Circolo Laudato si’ Sacro Cuore Ladispoli, volunteer of the Missionary Centre Diocese Porto-Santa Rufina.

The Press Conference will be streamed live in original language on the Vatican News Youtube channel, by connecting to the website https://www.youtube.com/c/VaticanNews.

Remote participation

Journalists and media operators who wish to participate in the Press Conference remotely, must send a request, within two hours of the event, through the Online Accreditation System of the Holy See Press Office, to the address https://press.vatican.va/accreditamenti, selecting the event: CS Message World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation – FROM REMOTE.

Admitted journalists and media operators will receive confirmation of participation through the Online Accreditation System and, subsequently, the link to access the virtual platform and actively participate in the Press Conference, with the opportunity to ask questions.

Participation in presence

Journalists and media operators who wish to participate in the Press Conference in presence, must send a request, within 24 hours of the event, through the Online Accreditation System of the Holy See Press Office, to the address https://press.vatican.va/accreditamenti, selecting the event: CS Message World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation – IN PRESENCE.

Admitted journalists and media operators will receive confirmation of participation through the Online Accreditation System.

Simultaneous translation

Using the virtual participation platform indicated in the paragraph “Remote participation” it is possible to access the simultaneous translation channels and listen to the Press Conference in Italian and English.
