Living Confirmation Every Day
Grandfather's Catechesis: How the Spirit guides us to seek and love Jesus in the everyday, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary
Sit with me under the tree, dear children, where the wind reminds me of the Spirit blowing freely. I’ll tell you how to live Confirmation in your daily life, not as a distant memory, but as a living flame that illuminates everything. This sacrament impels us to seek Jesus in the everyday, to find him in small things, and to love him with unwavering faithfulness.
In my youth, after Confirmation, I integrated my faith into my work: honesty in my tasks, helping my colleagues. It was seeing Christ in my efforts. In old age, in trials like loneliness, the Spirit sustained me, causing my love for Jesus to grow. It is profound: it makes us strong in adversity, generous in giving.
Testimonies of saints show how they lived this: in prayer, service, and evangelization. I did it by forgiving offenses and teaching faith. It’s positive: it fills you with eternal joy.
Cultivate your gifts within your family, school, and among your friends. Seek them in nature, in art, and in music that praises God.
This confirmed life is an endearing adventure, transforming the simple into the sacred.
In conclusion, my advice: Integrate faith into your daily routines with morning prayer. Use your gifts for wise decisions and charitable actions. Attend Mass weekly and serve in your community. Read the Bible to encounter Jesus. Resist temptation with fortitude and cultivate piety in worship. In this way, you will want to love Him more, living a vibrant and positive faith.
