Like St. Leo the Great, Live Faith Joyfully & Witness Christ’s Love
Invites Faithful to Imitate Doctor of the Church in Defending and Spreading Truth of the Gospel
Like St. Leo the Great, live your faith joyfully and witness Jesus’ love, and defend and spread the Gospel.
Pope Francis urged this toward the end of today’s weekly Wednesday General Audience in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall.
The Holy Father was greeting Italian-speaking pilgrims, especially the elderly, sick, young and newlyweds.
“Today,” he reminded, “the Liturgy commemorates Saint Leo the Great, Pope and Doctor of the Church, who consecrated his life to defending and spreading the truth of the Gospel.”
“Through his intercession, may you live your faith with joy and be serene witnesses to the Lord’s love.”
The Holy Father concluded bestowing his Apostolic Blessing.
Also in his remarks to pilgrims present, Pope Francis invited that during this month of November, “let us pray for our deceased loved ones, and for all who have died, that the Lord in His mercy will welcome them into the Kingdom of Heaven.”
