Leo XIV Strengthens Hispanic Pastoral Ministry in the U.S.: A Call to Hope and Welcome

Pope Leo XIV received more than 100 members of the Hispanic Pastoral Association of the United States at the Vatican last Tuesday, October 7. This meeting, full of symbolism and emotion, took place in the Apostolic Palace, where representatives of the Hispanic communities warmly welcomed the Pontiff. Upon his arrival, the Pope was greeted with applause and expressions of joy, reflecting the deep bond he shares with them.
In his address, the Pope delivered a message in Spanish, emphasizing that “God never abandons anyone.” He underscored the importance of pastoral work as a sign of hope and faith in a world marked by violence and hatred. He also encouraged those present to be witnesses of God’s love, focusing especially on the little ones, the poor, and migrants, who often find themselves in vulnerable situations.
Leo XIV emphasized that the mission of Hispanic Pastoral Care is essential to accompany those most in need, offering a message of comfort and solidarity. This meeting reaffirms the Church’s commitment to Hispanic communities in the United States and its dedication to serving the most disadvantaged.
