Leo XIV: “God doesn’t want influencers… He wants network builders!”
An invitation to repair what is broken and forge true bonds in the digital world, with Christ at the center
“And with that, I call on all of you: go and mend your nets.” Just as Jesus met his first apostles while they were mending their fishing nets, today he invites us to do the same, but with a different kind of net. Not those of thread and lead, but invisible but powerful ones: networks of human relationships, of sincere love, of free exchange.
These are networks where the important thing isn’t the number of followers, but the depth of the encounters, where loneliness can be healed and what has been broken can be repaired. Networks that aren’t seduced by filters or bubbles of appearance, but rather amplify the voices of the weakest. Networks that don’t confine, but liberate; that don’t isolate, but unite.
We need networks that make space for others, that restore dignity to our gaze, that help us rediscover the beauty of looking into each other’s eyes. Networks of truth. Networks that allow us to share stories of good, that become nodes in a single, immense network: the network of God.
This is the mission: to be agents of communion, capable of breaking the logic of division, polarization, individualism, and self-centeredness. Only by centering ourselves in Christ can we overcome the logic of the world: fake news, superficiality, lies. Only through Him can we radiate the beauty and light of truth.
Let us not give in to despair. Let us be missionaries in the digital world, bringing followers to Jesus.
