“I lost followers and money, but I’ve never been happier”
Casilda Finat reveals on ‘Rebeldes Podcast’ how the emptiness of fame and success led her to a transformative encounter with Jesus
Casilda Finat, a mother of three, wife, businesswoman with ten jewelry and costume jewelry stores, and renowned influencer, has become one of the most authentic and direct Catholic voices on Spanish social media. In a long and candid conversation on the podcast Rebeldes, alongside Father Ignacio and Don Pablo López, she recounted, without filters, her journey from apparent worldly fulfillment to a profound peace she found only by putting God at the center of her life.
“I had everything the world says makes you happy: money, a husband, children, stores, fame, constant gifts, events… and yet I felt empty, alone, utterly empty,” she confessed. That existential void, which she described as a vertigo in the face of the fragility of a happiness built on likes and fleeting events, was the trigger that led her to question: “How is it possible that I have everything and still am not happy?”
The turning point came after an almost casual invitation to a post-Covid spiritual retreat. Initially skeptical (“I thought it was a cult”), she went accompanied by her husband, her twin sister, and her brother-in-law, more out of obligation than conviction. There, during a moment of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, a stranger approached her and said words that resonated deeply: “You are a princess locked in a golden tower… and God is going to teach you his true love and his freedom.” “It was as if God spoke directly to me,” she recalled. That moment marked the beginning of a path of conversion that, although it had its ups and downs, was never the same again.
Casilda explains that she lost followers and revenue when she began speaking openly about the Holy Spirit, live rosary services, and her relationship with Jesus. “I lost money, yes, but I’m so much happier. I would do it again a million times,” she said, laughing. Today, she prays the rosary daily with a WhatsApp group she named “The Battalion of Mary,” organizes trips to Medjugorje with her followers, and has a large, blessed image of the Virgin Mary in each of her stores. Her business is also dedicated to the Sacred Heart.
Throughout the conversation, central themes of contemporary Christian life emerged: the slavery of likes, the fear of silence, the three great deceptions of happiness (pleasures, money, and fame), the parable of the sower, daily Eucharistic adoration as “spiritual fuel,” confession as a throne of mercy and not as a tribunal, and the importance of a spiritual director who helps to discern and stop deceiving oneself.
One of the most powerful moments was when she spoke about inner freedom: “I no longer depend on what others say. If they criticize me, great; if they don’t criticize me for a long time, I think: oh no, I must be going astray again.” She also emphasized how daily Mass became a vital necessity: “The day I didn’t go was like I hadn’t taken my medicine.”
When asked what she would tell herself at 15, her answer was clear and powerful: “That God listens to you and that God speaks to you. That was the discovery of all discoveries. It’s not a monologue; it’s a real relationship.”
Casilda Finat doesn’t pretend to be perfect or exemplary. She describes herself as chaotic, scatterbrained, and with “little natural prudence,” but it is precisely this unfiltered authenticity that connects with thousands of people who see in her a living testament that it is possible to live the Catholic faith in the 21st century without losing joy, humor, or beauty.
