From Infertility, the Black Hole, and Seven Babies in Heaven to a Double Miracle: The Story That Will Make You Believe Again
Marichu Suárez lost everything—her health, her plans, and the hope of becoming a mother—until she let go of the weight and let God carry the cross. What happened next is one of those stories you simply don't forget
Marichu Suárez seemed to have it all planned out: a happy childhood in a Catholic family in Madrid, studies at CUNEF, a long-term relationship… until life began to strip those layers away. The breakup with her first love, financial struggles at home, family losses, and moving universities caused her pillars to crumble. Without a rooted faith, she fell into a “black hole”: anxiety, deep sadness, and an eating disorder triggered by excessive exercise (running up to 16 km a day). She lost her period and, with it, part of her health and her zest for life.
But in the middle of that pit, Juan appeared—the man who would become her husband. Bit by bit, he helped her climb out, let go of control, and return to normalcy. They married open to life, eager to fill their home with children. However, pregnancy wouldn’t come.
After months of trying, doctors referred them directly to assisted reproduction. Marichu lived through it with total conviction: “How could God not allow this if all I want is a child?” They underwent two rounds of IVF. Seven embryos. Seven babies who are in heaven today. None of them took. The pain was devastating. The money saved from their wedding vanished. The black hole returned.
At her lowest point, something changed. While walking her dog, she heard the song Por ti by Jauna: “Anything that might be heavy, give it to me, for I will carry it for you.” In that instant, Marichu felt the weight lift. It wasn’t her job to carry that cross alone. It was Jesus’s. “The weight left me all at once and I said: I finally know who is carrying it, and it isn’t me.”
From that point on, everything was different. They opened their hearts to international adoption and, while waiting for their eligibility certification, several people told them about Naprotechnology: a branch of medicine that seeks to heal the underlying causes of infertility so that pregnancy can occur naturally.
Marichu, skeptical at first, agreed to try. They diagnosed several issues, treated them with conventional medicine, and… by the third month, she became pregnant naturally. Curiously, they had been granted their adoption eligibility on Tuesday. On Wednesday, she found out she was expecting Juanito Pablo.
Today they have three children: Juanito Pablo, Pablo, and María. But Marichu doesn’t just talk about biological fertility. She talks about fecundity—the idea that life can be fruitful even if biological children do not arrive. She speaks of being open to adoption, to accompaniment, and to sharing one’s testimony. Of living in permanent gratitude.
Her message is clear and powerful:
-
You can let go of control.
-
Suffering and love go hand in hand.
-
Trust. Even when everything seems impossible.
-
We come from Love to love, and there are a thousand ways to do it.
Today, Marichu shares her daily life, her values, and this story on social media (@marichusuárez), touching thousands of women and couples going through the same grief. Her life is living testimony that when you stop demanding God follow your plan and instead hand your plan over to Him, He usually surprises you with something much better.
Trust.
That is the word Marichu would write in giant letters across the sky. And after hearing her story, it’s hard not to.
