“For a Eucharistic life”: Prayer intention for the month of July
Video of the Pope
We publish below the text of the Pope’s Video with the prayer intention for the month of July circulated through the Pope’s World Prayer Network on the theme “For a Eucharistic life: Let us pray that Catholics place at the centre of their lives the celebration of the Eucharist, which profoundly transforms human relationships and opens them to encounter with God and with their brothers and sisters”:
Text of the Pope’s Video
If we leave Mass the same way we entered it, something is wrong.
The Eucharist is the presence of Jesus, it is profoundly transforming. Jesus comes and must transform you.
In it, it is Christ who offers himself, who gives himself for us, who invites us to let our lives be nourished by him and nourish those of our brothers and sisters.
The celebration of the Eucharist is an encounter with the risen Jesus and, at the same time, an urge to open ourselves to the world as He taught us.
Every time we participate in the Eucharist, Jesus comes and Jesus gives us the strength to love as He loved.
Because he gives us the courage to go out to others, to go out of ourselves and to open ourselves with love to others.
Let us pray that Catholics put the celebration of the Eucharist at the centre of their lives, which deeply transforms human relationships and opens us to an encounter with God and with our brothers and sisters.
