Don’t give up: there’s always a reason to keep going

There are times in life when things don't go as planned

Don’t give up: there’s always a reason to keep going

A project fails. We lose a loved one. A relationship ends. Financial problems arise. We worry about our children. Work becomes complicated. Or we simply reach a point where we feel we are tired of fighting.

In those circumstances it’s easy to ask yourself: is it worth continuing?

I think so.

Not because life is always easy. Nor because everything will work out the way we want. But because, even in the most difficult moments,  there is always the possibility of starting over .

Not giving up doesn’t mean not suffering

Sometimes we confuse strength with not being afraid, not crying, or not feeling sad.

And that’s not the case.

Even a strong person can feel defeated. They can cry. They can be afraid. They can need help. They can wonder why this is happening to them.

The difference is that, after all that, he tries to get up.

Maybe he can’t take ten steps. But he takes one.

And the next day, another one.

That is also courage.

Joy does not consist of ignoring problems

There are people who radiate joy even after having gone through very difficult times.

Not because they’ve had a perfect life.

Precisely because they have learned that joy does not depend on everything going well.

Joy can be found in a conversation with a friend, in a loving family, in a walk, in a project that rekindles our enthusiasm, in an unexpected opportunity, or simply in waking up one morning and thinking :

“I’m going to try again today.”

Joy doesn’t eliminate difficulties. But it can give us the strength to face them.

We must keep walking

We cannot always choose the circumstances we have to live through.

But we can choose, although it is not always easy,  the attitude with which we face them .

We can either stare at what we have lost or begin to discover what we still have.

We can think that our story has ended or accept that perhaps a different stage has only just begun.

We can give up.

Or we can say:

“Not yet.”

I’m not going to give up yet.

I still have something to do.

I still have people I love.

I still have something to learn.

I can still help someone.

I can still start over.

Beyond the specific circumstances, I am left with a very simple idea: difficulties do not have to have the last word .

Sometimes we need someone to remind us that we can still get back up.

And other times it is we who have to remind someone.

We also need this attitude in companies.

This reflection is not just personal.

It also has a lot to do with the business world.

Starting a business, running a company, working with people, or serving a customer means constantly facing difficulties.

A product may not work.

A campaign can fail.

A customer can leave.

A project can go wrong.

And yet, behind every difficulty there can be an opportunity to learn, correct and try again.

That’s why I believe that values like  perseverance, hope, trust, responsibility, and joy  have much more to do with marketing and services than we sometimes think.

Because values shouldn’t just be pretty words to use in a communication campaign.

They should help us make decisions.

And also to live.

The story is not over yet.

Perhaps you are going through a difficult situation today.

Perhaps you know someone who is going through it.

I don’t have a magic formula to solve it.

But I do dare to share one idea:

Let’s not confuse a bad moment with a bad life.

One difficult chapter doesn’t mean the whole story is going to be sad.

There will be days when walking will be easy and others when we can only take a small step.

But as long as we can take that step, let’s keep walking.

Because a new opportunity can always arise.

One person.

An idea.

A project.

A conversation.

A smile.

A different kind of morning.

Don’t give up.

Life can surprise us when we least expect it.

And, above all,  the story is not over yet .
