December 24: Christmas Eve
The baby Jesus is born
Gospel reflection
In today’s Gospel, Luke 2:1-14, we read of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. The news is announced to the shepherds, who are filled with joy and go to see the child in the manger. This is the great moment of Christmas: the Son of God comes into the world to save us.
The purpose of the day
Today, reflect on the mystery of Jesus’ birth and how He brings peace and hope to the world. Spend time in prayer, thanking God for His Son’s gift and the infinite love He has shown us.
How to live Christmas as a family
As a family, celebrate Christmas with joy and gratitude. You can attend Christmas Eve Mass, share a special meal, and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Jesus, our Savior.
Prayer for the day
“Lord Jesus, we thank you for coming into the world to save us. Today we celebrate your birth with joy and ask you to fill our hearts with peace and love. Bless my family and allow us to live this Christmas with a heart full of gratitude and faith. Amen.”
