Gospel Reflection
In today’s Gospel, Matthew 18:12-14, Jesus tells the parable of the lost sheep. It shows us the love and compassion of God, who does not want any of his little ones to be lost, but that all be saved.
The purpose of the day
Today, reflect on God’s unconditional love. Thank him for his love and compassion, and commit to showing that same love and compassion to others, especially those who are far away or in need.
How to live Christmas as a family
As a family, discuss the parable of the lost sheep and what it teaches us about God’s love and compassion. Then, plan a concrete act of charity to show that love to someone in need, whether it’s a neighbor, a friend, or a member of the community.
Prayer for the day
“Lord Jesus, thank you for your unconditional love and compassion. Help me to reflect that love and compassion to others, especially those who are far away or in need. Bless my family and allow us to walk together in this season of Advent, guided by your love and mercy. Amen.”
