Dawn, God’s Greatest Gift

Daily gratitude and patience in prayer

Dawn, God’s Greatest Gift
Waking up alive

He hears thousands of people crying out, “Father, pray hard for me. God hasn’t heard me yet.” He understands the pain, the anxiety, and the desire to be freed from burdens, but he reminds us that God often allows these trials precisely to strengthen our faith, our dependence on Him, our love, and our hope.

God always answers, even if not immediately.  Some answers come quickly; others require time and patience. Father Ángel emphasizes that “God always says yes, but He doesn’t say yes to us immediately.” Delays are not rejections, but opportunities for spiritual growth.

The core of the message is resounding and hopeful:  “Waking up alive is the best gift God gives us .” In a world where death constantly looms—we learn of celebrity deaths through social media, but as a priest, he faces the daily reality of the deceased of all ages—waking up each morning becomes a daily miracle that we often overlook.

Gratitude for what is essential.  The priest makes us reflect on what really matters when we open our eyes each day:

  • To awaken with life and consciousness to say: “Thank you, my God, for another day. Help me to use it for your glory and to love you in my brothers and sisters.”
  • Waking up healthy, even if we don’t have all the material things we desire.
  • Waking up next to your spouse or children, surrounded by family love.
  • Waking up believing in God, loving Him and with hope for eternal life.
  • Waking up with a job or studies, when so many don’t have one.
  • Wake up with faith, hope, and love.

These gifts, which fall upon us “like a ton” every day, far exceed the specific requests that sometimes obsess us: selling properties quickly, solving financial problems immediately, or achieving material success.

The Test of Divine Delays  : Father Ángel wisely warns that what we urgently ask for could harm us if it arrives at the wrong time. Sudden success or easy riches could make us arrogant or overbearing. God, in His love, sometimes prefers to give us work, battles, struggles, and sacrifices, because that builds character and keeps us close to Him.

We don’t know why some people seem to have it so easy; behind it all are stories of effort, sacrifice, and prayer that we don’t know about. The important thing is to recognize that the true treasure is waking up each morning with life, faith, hope, and love, surrounded by loved ones and trusting in divine providence.

A Call to Daily Action  : This reflection culminates in a practical and beautiful invitation: Let us begin each day with gratitude. Let us say from the heart, “Thank you, my God, for another day. May it be for your glory and for loving you in my brothers and sisters.” Let us do all the good we can, live with gratitude, and allow God to bless our lives.
