Card. Zuppi will travel to Washington as Pope’s Envoy
Mission: promoting peace in Ukraine
With a mission to promote reconciliation with Ukraine, the Pope sends Cardinal Zuppi to the American capital:

It is announced that on 17 – 19 July 2023, Card. Matteo Maria Zuppi, Archbishop of Bologna and President of the Italian Bishops’ Conference, accompanied by an Official of the Secretariat of State, will travel to Washington as Envoy of the Holy Father Francis.
The visit takes place in the context of the mission to promote peace in Ukraine and aims to exchange ideas and opinions on the tragic current situation and to support initiatives in the humanitarian sphere to alleviate the suffering of the most affected and fragile people, especially children.
