On a starry night, the angels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, along with other angels, met with East, the star that would guide the Magi to Bethlehem. The angels, always ready to fulfill divine missions, had a wonderful secret to share: the birth of the Messiah. “We have been sent by God to prepare everything for the birth of the Messiah,” Raphael said with a smile. East, although skeptical at first, soon warmed to the idea of being part of this heavenly event. “And the Child? Will the Child look at me?” she asked hopefully. The angels, with their characteristic wisdom and humor, assured her that Jesus would see her and that she would play a crucial role in this story.
The angels explained to East that they had been busy preparing the way for the Messiah. “First we went to Zacharias, John’s father. I suppose you don’t know him. He’s an old priest who didn’t believe our message and asked us for a sign. He’s been mute for a while,” Gabriel said. Worried, East exclaimed, “What a test!” Michael reassured her, “But don’t worry, he’ll get over it when his son is born.” The angels also mentioned that they had been busy with a census, a count ordered by Caesar in Rome and Quirinius, the governor of Syria. “This paperwork is enough to exhaust an Archangel,” Raphael joked.
The angels revealed to East that they had a wonderful secret to tell everyone. “It’s so secret, so secret, that we have no choice but to tell everyone; but in a very low voice, so that those next to us don’t find out, and we can tell it again,” Gabriel said with a wink. Intrigued, East asked, “And who are you telling it to?” Michael answered: “To everyone: To the angels, to men, to the stars, to the donkeys, to the birds…” The angels wrapped their wings around East and told him about their visit from God to the Virgin Mary, but very quietly, so that the neighboring stars could not hear them.
The angels also visited the Queen of Angels and Stars, the Virgin Mary. “We have also visited the Queen of Angels and Stars,” said Angel 2. East, impatient, asked: “And what message do you have for this star?” Raphael answered: “Although for now you do not seem like an important star, because you have no planets or moons, God has thought of you from all eternity. Rejoice, East. Soon the eyes of the Queen will look upon you, you will stop your flight over Bethlehem, and a caravan of Magi will walk behind you.” East, excited, exclaimed: “How wonderful! I am flying to the Portal, I want to take my place as soon as possible.”
With the East in place, the angels approached the shepherds, who were startled awake by the glow. Martha, Sarah, Matthias, and Zebulun were surprised to see the angels. “Do not be afraid. Behold, we bring you good news of great joy, which will be for all the people. Today a Savior has been born to you, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David,” the angels announced. The shepherds, filled with joy, decided to go to Bethlehem to see the Savior. “A great star will guide you to the Portal,” said the angels before disappearing. The shepherds, excited, headed to Bethlehem, leaving Zebulun alone for a moment.
