The Bethlehem Light of Peace is reaching Polish cities and villages, offices, institutions, and organizations. Representatives of the Polish Scouting Association pass on the light from the Grotto of the Nativity. It reached the Sejm on Thursday, December 14, and the Presidential Palace the following day.

Fr. Dr. Marcin Iżycki, the Director of Caritas Poland, has received the Bethlehem Light of Peace on behalf of the organization. Caritas Poland assists many people in the country as well as abroad. Maciej Dubicki of Caritas mentioned that Caritas Poland candles are also used to pass on the Bethlehem Light of Peace.

This year, on December 10, the flame was passed to Polish scouts in Zakopane. The light is now spreading to communities, institutions, and homes throughout Poland. In 1986, the Bethlehem Light of Peace was first organized in Austria as part of Christmas charity activities. The following year, the Austrian scouts took over the patronage of this action. Every year, scouting organizations from many European countries receive the Light from the Grotto of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The Polish Scouting Association has been participating in the action since 1997.
