Romana Editorial releases “The Power of the Gospel” by Pope Leo XIV: Christian Faith in 10 Key Words
The Pope’s book, with a previously unpublished prologue and 160 pages, will be presented on April 14 in Madrid by the Secretary of the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See and the Rector of Comillas University. This will serve as preparation for his Apostolic Journey to Spain in June
Romana Editorial has put on sale since Monday, April 6, the book *The Power of the Gospel. The Christian Faith in 10 Words*, by Pope Leo XIV, a work that summarizes the central themes of the beginning of his pontificate.
The 160-page volume is based on an unpublished text by the Holy Father himself and develops ten key concepts of the Christian life: Christ, heart, Church, mission, communion, peace, the poor, fragility, justice, and hope . These words offer a close look at the spirituality of Leo XIV, forged in the school of St. Augustine, which unites interior contemplation with missionary boldness, the search for communion in diversity, a preferential commitment to the poor, and the primacy of the love of Christ, whom he calls “our guiding star.”
In a quote included in the book, the Pope states: “We can mark our time with witness, with prayer to the Holy Spirit so that he may transform us into men and women contagious with peace, welcoming the grace of Christ and spreading the fragrance of his charity and mercy throughout the world. ‘We are the times’: let us not be discouraged by the violence we witness; let us ask God the Father, each day, for the strength of the Holy Spirit to make the living flame of peace shine brightly in the darkness of history.”
The prologue, also unpublished, was prepared by Leo XIV himself and highlights the centrality of Christ as the source of communion between people and the original cause of peace.
The official book launch will take place on Tuesday, April 14th at 6:15 pm at the Comillas Pontifical University (ICAI, C/ Alberto Aguilera, 25, Madrid). It will be presented by Monsignor Lucio Adrián Ruiz , Secretary of the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See, and Father Antonio Allende Felgueroso, SJ , Rector of the University.
According to Romana Editorial, this publication is “a unique book to get to know Pope Leo XIV, his faith, his missionary spirit and his way of being Christian” and constitutes an especially useful tool to prepare for the * Apostolic Journey of Pope Leo XIV to Spain , scheduled from June 6 to 12, 2026.
The book is now available in bookstores and large stores throughout Spain (El Corte Inglés, Fnac), on Amazon and Librería San Pablo .
