Pope Francis will inaugurate the Synod on Synodality in the Vatican with the celebration of Mass in Saint Peter’s Basilica on Sunday, October 10. It will be preceded by a moment of reflection in the Synod’s New Hall on Saturday, October 9.
According to a note of the Synod of Bishops’ General Secretariat, the program on Saturday includes works in a Plenary Session and work in linguistic groups. Attending will be representatives of the People of God, among them the delegates of the International Meetings of Episcopal Conferences and assimilated organisms; members of the Roman Curia; fraternal delegates; delegates of Consecrated Life and of lay Ecclesial Movements; the Young Peoples’ Council, etc. Pope Francis will participate in the first part of the works.
The Holy Mass on Sunday, October 10 at 10:00 am, presided over by the Holy Father, will inaugurate the Synod for the universal Church and for the Diocese of Rome, with the participation of the faithful.
Saturday’s Plenary Session and Sunday’s Holy Mass will be broadcast live by Vatican Media
