The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Milad Jawish, B.S., parish priest of Saint-Jean-Chrysostome in Brussels, as bishop of the eparchy of Saint-Sauveur de Montréal of the Greek-Melkites, Canada.

Msgr. Milad Jawish was born on 19 December 1973 in Mansoura, Lebanon. After high school, he entered the Basilian Order of the Most Holy Saviour of the Melkites. He was awarded a licentiate in theology from the Saint Esprit University in Kaslik, and on 10 October 1999, he gave his religious vows. On 6 May 2000, he was ordained a priest.
He attended the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome where in 2002 he received a diploma in biblical theology. From 2002 to 2007 he was vice-rector of the major seminary of the Most Holy Saviour and parish priest of Sainte-Croix in Jeita and Shailé. From 2007 to 2011 he was secretary-general of his Order. From 2011 to the present, he has served as parish priest of Saint-Jean-Chrysostome in Brussels. In 2015 he was awarded a doctorate in biblical theology from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.
Besides Arabic, he knows French, English, and Italian.
Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Guadalajara, Mexico
The Holy Father has appointed as titular bishop of Bisarcio and auxiliary of the metropolitan archdiocese of Guadalajara, Mexico, the Reverend Ramón Salazar Estrada, of the clergy of the same diocese until now spiritual director and lecturer at the major seminary and chaplain in a rest home.

Msgr. Ramón Salazar Estrada was born on 17 May 1963 in Guadalajara, in the archdiocese of the same name. After completing his studies for the priesthood in the seminary of Guadalajara, he was ordained a priest on 30 May 1993 and incardinated in the metropolitan archdiocese of Guadalajara.
After ordination he obtained a licentiate in moral theology from the Alphonsianum Academy in Rome (1993-1995), and served as chaplain of the Monastery of the Perpetual Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament (1996-1997); spiritual director of the minor seminary and lecturer in moral theology at the major seminary of Guadalajara (1996-1999); prefect of the auxiliary seminary of Guadalajara (1996-2000); and chaplain of the Handmaids of the Lord of Mercy (1997-1999). He was awarded a doctorate in moral theology from the Alphonsianum Academy (2000-2002); chaplain of the Sankt Cäcilia in Bonn Oberkassel, Germany (2001); parish vicar of La Purificación de María (2003); lecturer in social morality at the major seminary of Guadalajara (2003-2005); parish priest of María Reina de México (2003-2004); chaplain of the Colégio Cervantes (2004-2013); lecturer in Latin at the minor and major seminaries of Guadalajara (2004 to date); spiritual director of the minor seminary (2005-2006); spiritual director of the Institute for Adult Vocations (2006-2015); lecturer in moral theology at the major seminary (2011 to date); chaplain of the Claretian Missionary Sisters (2013-2015); and lecturer in social morality at the major seminary (2014-2017). From 2015 to the present, he has served as spiritual director of the major seminary of Guadalajara, and chaplain in a rest home.
He has published several articles regarding moral theology.
