Pope Francis’ General Audiences will resume with the presence of the faithful next Wednesday, May 12.
The Holy See Press Office communicated the announcement of the Prefecture of the Papal Household in a statement today, May 6, 2021.

“According to what was communicated by the Prefecture of the Papal Household, on Wednesday May 12th,” the Press Office’s announcement read, “the Holy Father will preside over the General Audience in the Courtyard of San Damaso.”

“Observing the health indications provided, the faithful who wish to participate will be able to enter through the bronze door in St. Peter’s Square,” to the right of the colonnade.

“No entrance tickets are required,” it clarified.

In the past, prior to the pandemic, General Audiences were held in St. Peter’s Square, or in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall. Since the pandemic, they often were streamed privately in the Pope’s apostolic library, and at times, when in line with health authorities’ recommendations that some gathering was safe, it was held with some faithful in the Courtyard of San Damaso.
