Sometimes, all it takes is one word, one phrase, to completely change our state of mind. A few years ago, I found one that marked my life: “Words are superfluous, just sigh.”
Since then, I come to prayer with a more rested soul, without the need to explain everything with words, without feeling that I must structure my thoughts. There is no need to send a burofax to heaven to be heard. Just sigh… because in that small gesture, in that moment of silent surrender, I have already said everything. It is something I already knew… Yes, but I was reminded of it in the best way.
And I think that is precisely the secret of Hakuna’s songs: they contain that word, that phrase that has the power to transform everything, putting melody to truths that many already knew, but that perhaps they had never felt so strongly. For some, their lyrics are a reminder of something they have always carried inside, but that they need to hear again in a new light. For others, however, they are an unexpected revelation.
That is why, this February 14, we have a date in the cinemas. An invitation to take off our shoes, to let ourselves be carried away by the music and allow it to transform us from within. DESCALZOS, the new film by Santos Blanco, director of Libres, comes to the big screen with a unique proposal that promises to excite and make you think.
A different documentary
The film, distributed by Lucía González-Barandiarán, Bosco Films and A Contracorriente Films, is not a simple biopic or a backstage of a musical group. It is a non-fiction documentary, but with the necessary ingredients to be entertaining and profound at the same time.
According to its director, Santos Blanco:
“It is not just the story of a group or a behind-the-scenes. It is a documentary that delves into universal themes with touches of humor and emotion. It makes you reflect, think and feel.”
Much more than a film
If you are looking for a different gift for this Valentine’s Day, this film is a perfect opportunity to share a moment of introspection and beauty. DESCALZOS is not just a film, it is an experience, a journey that invites us to stop, listen and let ourselves be reached by the music.
Premiering in cinemas this Friday, February 14. Do you dare to take off your shoes?
