Gospel Reflection
Today we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In the Gospel of Luke 1:39-47, Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth, who, filled with the Holy Spirit, recognizes the presence of Jesus in Mary’s womb and calls her blessed among women. Mary responds with the Magnificat, praising the greatness of God.
The purpose of the day
Today, celebrate God’s greatness and his love manifested through Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Spend time in prayer and praise, thanking God for his blessings and the gift of Mary in our lives.
How to live Christmas as a family
As a family, talk about the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe and her importance in the Catholic faith. You can pray the Magnificat together and have a small celebration in honor of the Virgin, thanking her for her intercession and motherly love.
Prayer for the day
“Lord Jesus, thank you for the gift of your Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Help me to celebrate your greatness and to live with gratitude and praise for your blessings. Bless my family and allow us to walk together in this Advent season, guided by the love and intercession of Mary. Amen.”
