Call for Applications to the First International Leadership Seminar for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities

The International Academy of Catholic Leaders, in collaboration with the Jesuit University of Paraguay and the University of El Salvador of Argentina, announces the First International Leadership Seminar for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, a training space for those working in the promotion, advocacy, and support of persons with disabilities.

This seminar aims to foster reflection and the development of inclusion strategies from a perspective based on the Social Doctrine of the Church, promoting integral human development both within the ecclesial community and in society at large.

Event Details

The seminar will be held during April and May via the Zoom platform, with the following schedules depending on the country:

  • Mexico, Costa Rica: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Colombia, Peru: 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Venezuela, Cuba, New York: 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Argentina, Brazil, Chile: 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Europe and Equatorial Guinea: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Topics to be Covered

The seminar will address various key topics for promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities, including:

  • The Social Doctrine of the Church and Disability
  • Successful Public Policies on Inclusion
  • Disability and Bioethics
  • The Role of the Family in Inclusion
  • Experiences of Good Practices in the Life of the Church

Faculty

The seminar will feature the participation of leading specialists in policy promotion. Public administrations and pastoral accompaniment of persons with disabilities, including:

  • Cardinal Adalberto Martínez, Archbishop of Asunción
  • Ana Paula Feminella, National Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of Brazil
  • José Carlos Bermejo, Director of the Center for the Humanization of Health in Spain
  • Leonardo Luis Boto, Mayor of Luján, Argentina
  • Father Osvaldo Briceño, priest of the Archdiocese of La Serena, Chile

Registration and Scholarships

The seminar offers scholarships for those wishing to train and promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities. The application period is open until March 31.
