C9, Council of Cardinals’ meetings begin with the Pope

The current session is the fourth this year, after the previous ones in February, April and June. At the latter, along with the cardinals, a nun and two lay people were present

On the morning of Monday, December 2, in the presence of the Pope, the Council of Cardinals met in the Vatican. Known as the C9, the working group of nine cardinals who assist and advise Francis was renewed in its composition by the Pontiff himself in March 2023.

The current session is the fourth this year, after the previous ones in February (from 5 to 7), April (from 15 to 16) and June (from 17 to 18).

At the last meeting in June, a large space was devoted to the themes of the protection of minors and the role of women in the Church, thanks also to the presence and contributions of a religious sister, Sister Linda Pocher, and two lay women, Professors Valentina Rotondi and Donata Horak.
