This morning, the Holy Father Francis received in audience the members of the “POPE FRANCIS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION”
The Pope’s words to the Foundation’s members highlight a profound idea: taking care of the elderly is like receiving a precious inheritance, and our duty is to pass it on to the new generations. The elderly are the bridge between the past and the future, and in children lies the promise of a better tomorrow.
Greetings from the Holy Father
Thank you for what you do. Taking care of the elderly is taking on a legacy. And handing down this legacy. Therefore, at the other end are the children. Coming here, I appreciated the joy with which he drank from his bottle. A promise. A legacy and a promise. And we are the bridge.
I thank all of those who are collaborating on this project. When Dr. Belda read the list, it seemed like the telephone directory, because everyone has collaborated and this pleases me. Universality in collaboration.
Today I would like to emphasize two things: legacy and future, elderly and children; we must take responsibility for both of them, so that history continues. And then, universality in the collaboration of all.
Thank you for what you do, and pray for me, please!
