Can You Design a Logo for 2025 Jubilee?
In 2025, the Church celebrates another Holy Year. After the Great Jubilee of 2000, there are now only three years left until the twenty-five years have passed between the last ordinary Jubilee. Pope Francis has charged the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization with organizing the 2025 Jubilee and preparations are already underway.
Among the first activities to be carried out is the choice of the Official Logo, with which the identity and the particular spiritual theme of each Holy Year is expressed, embracing the theological meaning around which this historic event is developed and realized. The letter that Pope Francis addressed to the President of the Dicastery of the New Evangelization (dated February 11, 2022) contains some useful themes that can be used to compose the Logo. The motto “pilgrims of hope” is undoubtedly the favored theme from which participants will draw inspiration.
The Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization announces, with this press release, a competition open to all, for the creation of the Official Logo of the Jubilee 2025. Anyone can participate, subject to acceptance of the Rules and Regulations, which contain all the information necessary to submit one’s work to the selection committee. Information is available on the website iubilaeum2025.va/en/logo where it will soon be possible to upload the digital file of one’s work. The contest begins today, Tuesday, February 22, and ends Friday, May 20, 2022.
For the Holy Year of 2000, the winner of the competition was a 22-year-old female student of an Art Institute, whose entry has become part of history. The Jubilee’s logo symbolically conveys a message in an immediate and fitting way and is an expression both of the universality of the Church’s message and of the particular spiritual needs of our contemporaries, who find comfort in this message, inspired by the theme of hope. In addition, the logo makes official the initiatives, projects, communications, and events that will be proposed for the preparation and celebration of the Jubilee 2025.
