A Call for Peace in 16 Languages in Krakow and Across Six Continents
The grand musical and religious event, the “Symphony of Mercy,” is a call for peace and mercy for the world. It will be held simultaneously in Krakow, a city dear to John Paul II, the Vatican, and other cities across six continents. The Holy Father has blessed the event

Responding to Pope Francis’ Call
Jan Mrowca, the initiator of the event, emphasizes that the Symphony of Mercy is a response to Pope Francis’ call for prayers for mercy and peace in the world.
“This is a loud and resolute response to what is happening today. It originates from the tomb of Saint Faustina in Kraków, Poland. We will pray with trust for God’s mercy and the gift of peace,” he stressed.
From Krakow to the Vatican and Five Continents
The Symphony—a grand musical and prayerful spectacle composed by Polish composer Bartłomiej Gliniak, based on the words of Saint Faustina Kowalska—will be performed by 200 artists from around the world. “Saint Faustina not only wrote diary entries about her daily conversations with Jesus but also composed poetry. Excerpts from her poems lend themselves beautifully to musical interpretation. The piece will be sung in 16 languages. We carefully selected them to ensure that as many people as possible can hear the Symphony of Mercy,” added Jan Mrowca.
The concert will occur near the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki, a site visited by Saint John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis. From there, artists will connect live with the Vatican and Divine Mercy shrines on five other continents: Brazil, the USA, Tanzania, the Philippines, and Australia.
Pope Francis’ Blessing
The “Terra Divina” Foundation and the John Paul II Institute for Intercultural Dialogue are event organizers. As Jan Mrowca noted, the “Symphony of Mercy” also responds to Pope Francis’ call for synodality. “Our initiative comes from the laity, but we are part of the Church. We have the patronage of almost all Polish cardinals, the Apostolic Nuncio, and recently, we traveled to Pope Francis. He promised that he would be with us that evening,” said Jan Mrowca. The Holy Father also signed a letter blessing the event.
Renowned Artists
The event will bring together artists from around the world, including soloists such as Buika, Angelika Górny, Sofia Karlsson, Andrzej Lampert, Yasmine Levy, Corinne May, Ive Mendes, Saulius Petreikis, Carla Pires, Joanna Słowińska, and Roksana Węgiel. Various ensembles will also perform, including the Vocal Ensemble of the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Kiabakari, Tanzania, the Krakow Philharmonic Choir, the Schola of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra.
Audiences worldwide will be able to connect with the event through television broadcasts and the Internet. As the organizers emphasize, the Symphony of Mercy is intended as a profound plea for mercy and peace in these turbulent times.
