«The health of the Holy Father, also today, has remained stationary without presenting episodes of respiratory failure. As planned, he received high-flow oxygen therapy during the day and non-invasive mechanical ventilation will be resumed at night. The Holy Father increased active respiratory and motor physiotherapy.
He spent the day in an armchair. Given the complexity of the clinical picture, the prognosis4 remains reserved.
This morning, in the private apartment on the 10th floor, the Holy Father participated in the rite of blessing of the Holy Ashes imposed on him by the celebrant and then received the Eucharist.
He then devoted himself to some work activities. In the morning, he called Fr. Gabriel Romanelli, parish priest of the Holy Family in Gaza. In the afternoon he alternated between rest and work.
This is what is reported in the bulletin of the Holy See Press Office released this afternoon, Wednesday 5 March, on the state of health of the Pope, hospitalized in the Gemelli hospital since 14 February.
