SANT’EGIDIO: GROWING MEMBERSHIP OF “IMAGINER LA PAIX”, THE INTERNATIONAL MEETING FOR PEACE TO BE HELD IN PARIS FROM 22 TO 24 SEPTEMBER
Religious leaders meet with representatives of the world of culture, humanists, and politicians – Popular participation from all over Europe – Press conference for the presentation Friday 20 September
Participation is growing in the international meeting Imaginer la Paix – Imagine Peace, promoted by the Community of Sant’Egidio together with the Archdiocese of Paris. From 22 to 24 September, thousands of people from Europe and other continents, including many young people, will meet in the French capital: a “people of peace” that does not resign itself to the too many wars in the world and acts as a spokesperson for the terrible suffering inflicted on populations who are victims of conflict.
The programme (see attached file) is packed with events, from the opening on the evening of 22 September at the Palais des Congrès, to the 21 forums scheduled for the 23rd and the morning of the 24th, in the heart of Paris (IV and V arrondissements), on the emerging issues of our time (such as peace, disarmament, the environmental crisis, immigrants, democracy and solidarity) to the final ceremony, at 6 pm on 24 September, in the cemetery of Notre Dame Cathedral.
The international meeting
Imaginer la Paix – Imagine Peace
will be presented at the press conference
Friday 20 September, at 11.15 am, at the College of the Bernardins
(20, rue de Poissy, 75005 Paris)
The speakers will be
Laurent Ulrich, Archbishop of Paris
Marco Impagliazzo, President of the Community of Sant’Egidio
